"Choreographer David Middendorp amazes with dancers and drones that merge into an enchanting world."

Flirt With Reality flawlessly shows us how borders start to fade in an increasingly virtual world. In the tension between humans and technology, it seems as if technology is playing an increasingly important role in shaping reality.

Dancers literally collide with bits and drones, are free from time and gravity and are propelled by their own feeling, fantasy and rhythm. Yet, in this flirtation with reality, it is playfully demonstrated that technology also creates new opportunities at the same time.

The performance consists of five choreographies: the three new works Airman, Flyland in a Room and Game Engine, a renewed version of the popular Blue Journey (with which David Middendorp reached the final of America’s Got Talent in 2014) and As It Appears, a new work based on the piece Painting that Middendorp made for Introdans in 2017. Middendorp’s unique mix of dance and innovative technology creates an inspiring and original dance experience in which the impossible becomes possible!

"Dit is een vernieuwend dansspektakel waar voor iemand die niets met dans heeft ook meer dan genoeg te beleven valt. Knap!"

Flirt With Reality - Airman

"Alle stukken in het programma Flirt with Reality ademen een soort verwondering, alsmede de overtuiging dat uiteindelijk de mens beter zal worden dankzij zijn technische innovaties."
