Amanda Simons, Dansmagazine
You fall, yet suddenly you realise you are flying. You look at yourself, and you see you are part human, part machine. Slowly you start to feel like you are losing all control, and you wonder whether you should give the machine so much power. Will technology (eventually) take over, and if so, are you alright with that? Technology makes us increasingly fast, strong, pretty and smart – but can we handle all these new powers?
In Blue Technology, choreographer David Middendorp yet again utilises the most advanced technologies, and magically merges dance and technology. He immerses you in the tension between man and his modern environment.
Blue Technology consists of four different choreographies, Blue Journey, Facemachine, Flyland in a Room and Newton’s Duet, each of which examines this relationship between man and technology in their own way. It is an intense dance performance full of tension and imagination. A stunning confluence of beautiful projections, drones and music from Radiohead, among others. In short, a piece that defies being pigeonholed!
"Facemachine is humoristisch. Vermakelijk!"
Ruud Nieuwendijk, De Gelderlander
