Middendorp has created a new duet especially for the Introdans performance GEK GEZICHT: Wereldleiders (World Leaders).
This choreography started out with the following imaginative idea: suppose you have a magic lantern, which when you shine it on a child shows a shadow of what the child will become later on. The shadow shows you a baker, a stock trader, a psychologist or maybe… a world leader. In this choreography you see a live interaction between two dancers and the two digital world leaders in their shadow.
The uninhibited and honest movements of the dancers reflect the sometimes childish behaviour of today’s world leaders and thereby expose the deeper layers of humanity.
